My path to accounting was a little different than most. I earned my first degree—in Wildlife Biology—from Clemson University. Many years later, I returned to school to pursue my passion for numbers and problem-solving. I completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Francis Marion University, where I was honored to receive the Accounting Award, selected by the accounting faculty in my final semester.
Since then, I’ve built a career in public accounting that blends technical precision with meaningful connection. I have extensive experience with individual and small business taxation, with a particular emphasis on farm taxation and multistate tax issues. As a member of both the AICPA and SCACPA, I remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and continuing education.
My favorite part of this profession is the relationships I build with my clients. I love helping people understand their financial picture, solve complex tax and accounting challenges, and feel genuinely supported along the way. Why “Tall Pines”?
The name Tall Pines carries deep personal meaning for me. Early in my career, I worked on a plantation in Georgia where we were restoring longleaf pine forests. Standing among those tall, majestic trees left a lasting impression on me — their resilience, their beauty, and their importance to the land.
Here in South Carolina, the loblolly pine is the tallest tree in the state and a vital part of our southeastern ecosystems and economy. To me, pine trees symbolize strength, generosity, and growth — the same qualities I strive to bring to my clients and their financial lives.
Tall Pines isn’t just a name. It’s a reminder of the values and environment that shaped me, and a symbol of the steady, rooted support I aim to provide to every person I work with.
